Video: Random Collective Haul (Fashion, Beauty, and Food)

I think my first (and last?) fashion haul is in this post, it's 7 years ago lol. This time I made it into video version (as you know I'm growing my Youtube channel hehe). It's fun actually, I love shopping and I know I need to be less impulsive when I buy something but I decided to just make something out of it (haul contents) so I can feel less guilty, haha. I hope you can enjoy this video~

It was too long to make into one video so I divided it into 2 parts. The second one is Beauty and Food/ Snacks haul. It's shorter guys~ Please support me by subscribing to my channel ;))

Jaa, see you on the next posts~

Food Monster Escape: Cafe Yucca, Pontianak // Instagrammable Cafe

Cafe Yucca Pontianak Blog Review | www.bigdreamerblog.com
When I visited my hometown last Chinese New Year, I also managed to visit this cute cafe called Cafe Yucca. Back then when I still lived in Pontianak, there was no such fancy/ cute cafe(s) like this (or is it just me that didn't know? haha). I knew it from one of my friend- who is a food blogger, and decided to put it on my bucket list. Cafe Yucca is located at Jl. S. Parman, Pontianak (I'll put the maps at the end of the post).

A lot of things had changed when I visited Pontianak this time. Traveling around was easier thanks to online transportation services and it's very cheap compared to the price in Jakarta. So when I had nothing to do at home, I asked my cousin to accompany me. I actually could go there alone, but who's gonna take my photo then? Hahaha! I paid all the food and drinks, win-win solution huh? ;p

I can say that I love this cafe so much! The interior, the ambiance, the color, the food, the price = exactly my style. It's nice to catch up with your friends, or just to take nice photos for the gram. I obviously took a lot of photos, it's so pretty for OOTD photos!

Disclaimer: I visited this cafe around 2 months ago and to be honest I already forgot the menu's name/ exact price.

I ordered only drinks and french fries. I checked their Instagram and found out the name of drinks I ordered: Mango Wagelaseh, Mamase Mamasa Mamakusa, and Oh Honey! (cmiiw) The Yucca Fries was around IDR 20k, the portion was pretty large and the taste was decent for its price. Drinks were around IDR 25k-30k, it's also affordable for me and they tasted good and unique, totally worth it. Imo it's pretty cheap for a cafe, I think because I compared it to the price of cafes in Jakarta?

Anyway, Cafe Yucca was a cozy place with decent menus and affordable price + it's instagrammable. Oh, it also has rooftop but when I visited it's still under construction. Give it a visit if you live in Pontianak or when you happen to visit Pontianak ;)

Food Monster Escape: So Fashion Cafe (Mall Taman Anggrek, Jakarta)

So Fashion Cafe Jakarta | www.bigdreamerblog.com
Hola, Dreamers! Should we talk about another cute/ instaworthy cafe in Jakarta? This time is a cafe located inside Taman Anggrek Mall, So Fashion Cafe. It's no new cafe in town, but I'm always kinda late for this kind of stuff. Guess what, my IG timeline photos was all about this place, so I didn't really wanna join the hype, lol. Let me be late, it's fine as long as I can write about it and tell people who haven't known about it.
The vibe of So Fashion Cafe is so pinky, I mean... all of the stuff there are pink from the interior to the food/ beverages. Everything is so cute, I can't! When I browsed about this cafe, I also found another one in Taiwan. So this is their branch- not franchised but the same owner. They also opened So Hot Stone Hot Pot- a shabu-shabu place, located beside the cafe. If So Fashion has domination of pink, So Hot has domination of white and blue. So Fashion Cafe is divided into two sections, indoor and outdoor.
I went there on Sunday, and it's full. Better avoid visiting on weekend tho, it must be so nice to take photos here on weekdays, hahaha. Luckily we still got table inside and it's getting empty in the end so I could take photos at almost all the instaworthy spots.
And here are some instaworthy spots that I like, they are so suitable for taking OOTD photos actually. My tips is come here with vibrant/ contrast color outfit, so you can pop up with the pinkish background. Well, it depends on your preferences tho, if you want to blend in with the background, why not? ;) There's no rule at all!

Next, let's talk about what I ordered there. So Fashion basically serves coffee and desserts, with light bites, salad, korean food, and brunch menus. Their desserts are really instaworthy too. There are two kind of people who visit this cafe: the ones who enjoy their food, and the ones who do it for the gram, lol.

Banana Chocolate Marshmallow (IDR 55k)
I waited so long for this menu T.T I thought they missed my order, so I actually spent a lot of time here. This Banana Chocolate Marshmallow is brioche bread with nutella, banana, melting marshmallow, chocolate sauce, and almond. I actually kinda regret not ordering savory food instead, because my mom didn't want to eat it so I had to finish this all by myself- while I can't really stand sweet food. This one was so sweet! Actually it's balanced when I ate it with the bread, but the marshmallow itself was super sweet. I love how the banana could tone down the sweetness too. DON'T ORDER THIS IF YOU'RE NOT SHARING, well except if you're a sweet tooth. Overall it's good.

Iced Strawberry Coffee Latte (IDR 49k)
Mom ordered this because it looks cute. I can't deny it tho, it does look cute. Note that my mom is not a coffee person, so in the end I was the one who finish this drink :) Surprisingly it's not that sweet, everything just okay. It's coffee latte, but you still can taste the strawberry. Decent and very instaworthy.

Peach Sparkling (IDR 45k)
This is my favorite order of the day, it's soda water with chunks of peach and mint. It's such a cute surprise because it came with a cute flamingo float (didn't expect that). The Peach Sparkling was so fresh, it neutralized the overly sweet taste of Banana Chocolate Marshmallow. If not I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to eat the bread again.

Price wise, I actually think it's kinda pricey, but they actually also "sell" the cafe concept and interior, plus it's inside the mall so it's still reasonable. Food are also decent so it's okay to visit once in a while.

Disclaimer: I'm not a pro food reviewer, just want to share the instaworthy spots and the food I tried here.

Food Monster Escape: The Garden, Pantai Indah Kapuk

The Garden PIK review | www.bigdreamerblog.com
Hi, Dreamers! I'm so excited to share about this insta-worthy restaurant with delicious food called The Garden at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta Utara. I can say that most of restaurants/ cafes around PIK have pretty exterior and interior designs, but not all of them offer nice food too. One of the reason I write this post is because The Garden is not only selling ambience, but also gives a high quality taste for us.
Live up to its name, The Garden offers garden-like interior, with lots of plants, flowers, even flamingos. It has great lighting for taking photos, especially when you come at noon. We were actually too late when we went there, it's already around 6 so the place was already full and we have to be on waiting list. It has different vibe at night, romantic I can say. When I entered, I was amazed by how serious they pull off this concept. It's all out-- not half hearted, lol.

So, here are some tips I can give after my visit:
★ Find your perfect timing. Visit at noon if you want to take a lot of nice photos. It has natural (and great) lighting, but still you won't feel hot because the air conditioner is really strong. I'm not saying this place is bad to visit at night tho, it's just the lighting is not the best for taking photos, especially when it's getting late, they turn off the lights for live show-- that's why I couldn't take photos at all even though every corners at this restaurant is instagrammable. I think visiting at noon also less crowded than the night. So, you can find your own timing to visit, both has its own charms. Oh, maybe you can get both experience by visiting it around 5 pm ;))
★ Wear the perfect outfit. Well, of course to take a nice photo, huh? lol. Not merely for that reason tho :)) It's pretty cold here, so if you're not really good with coldness, better bring an outerwear or wear warmer clothes.

I think you can't complain about the interior, but how about the food? I'm gonna give some review about the food we ate here. It's including meal, drinks, and dessert.

Bad'Ass Fried Rice (IDR 90k)
This Bad'Ass Fried Rice is listed as their favorite dish. I was kinda craving for fried rice hence I ordered this menu. It's spicy fried rice with grilled wagyu and onsen egg. The portion is not too big nor small, it's perfect for me actually. The fried rice was spicy and rich of flavors, I think the seasoning is just right. It goes perfectly with the soft, savory, and sweet grilled wagyu. The onsen egg was not onsen enough tho, just like regular egg.

Sunshine Caramelized Pork (IDR 100k)
Oh my, this is the winner! Sunshine Caramelized Pork is crispy pork topped with Thai salad and sweet sauce (not the literal caramel sauce). My friend was the one who ordered this and I tried one of the crispy pork and it tasted heavenly, lol. The crispiness and sweet flavor is just perfect T.T The salad itself makes this dish taste so fresh. I will just order this on my next visit!

Salted Choco Fondant (IDR 75k)
We are all always have extra space for dessert, right? Kinda confused what to order at first, but we finally decided to order Salted Choco Fondant, contains of dark melted valrhona, caramel miso, coconut crumble, kinako, black tuile with matcha ice cream. It's nice combination of sweet and salty flavor, neutralized by the matcha ice cream (imo). It's kinda pricey for dessert, but it's worth it after all.
Overall, it's a nice place to hang out with your friends, family, or even to have a date. It offers both great ambience and delicious food, so I think I will visit it again in the future. For price wise it's kinda expensive but I actually didn't really mind paid that price for what I got. Last but not least, the service was good too :)

Food Monster Escape: Amausaan Uji Matcha- Central Park Mall, Jakarta

Hola, Dreamers! It's been a while since my last Food Monster Escape post, right? I'm currently in love with a matcha specialty cafe/ dessert house called Amausan Uji Matcha, located inside Central Park Mall Jakarta, LG floor near BCA ATM. This is the dessert house you must visit when you're longing for Japan, especially Kyoto. All the decorations are screaming Japan- with traditional wood interior, shrine-like exterior, including wish boards and fortune telling corner. The torii in front of it is an instagrammable spot tho!
Before we get inside or take a seat, we should order first. So the sequence will be: order, wait until the waitress call you and show you your seat, enjoy your matcha desserts. Every corner of Amausan Uji Matcha is worth a pic, imo. We can also use those Japanese decorations as photo property, but make sure to return it afterwards.

Actually, I've visited it two times! First time with my friend Ticia and second one with my mom. So, I'm gonna write a short review about all menu that I've tried (it's quite a lot, hehe) and tell you which one that I love the most :))

Uji Matcha Ice Bamboo Tube (IDR 52k)
Uji Matcha Ice Bamboo Tube is one of Amausan Uji Matcha signature menu, served in bamboo tube- obviously. It contains shaved ice, shiratama balls (rice cake), red bean, matcha gelato, whipped cream with caramel and roasted rice puff. Even I'm not a fan of whipped cream, I can say that I love it after some bites and I totally love the rice puff. Hands down to the matcha gelato, it's sooo gewd! It still has the bitterness that make it tasted authentic.

Matsukawa- Raw Matcha Bowl (IDR 62k)
My friend ordered this and I had a bite- it's so matcha! If you're a true matcha lover, you must love this one. With the combination of matcha gelato, red bean, shiratama, and raw matcha jelly, it simply brings you to Kyoto (what?!). The hint of bitterness from matcha gelato and jelly + sweetness from red bean + chewy shiratama = best combo!

Ishida- White Jade Matcha Story (IDR 62k)
I tried this on my second visit, I thought that I must try another dessert so I could write more on this review, hehe. I ordered Ishida- White Jade Matcha Story (what a beautiful name) contains matcha soft-serve, red bean, shiratama (glutinous rice balls), roasted rice puff, and we'll also find a hint of crunchy Japanese crispywafer and vanilla silk pudding inside. All the ingredients create a perfect harmony- tasted super good. But if I have to choose, I actually prefer their matcha gelato. This soft-serve is good, but you can taste more milky matcha rather than "bitter-sweet" matcha. It's personal preference tho :)

Sakura Blossom Roll Cake (IDR 39k)
This roll cake is from their Cherry Blossoms series. I ordered it because I love sakura (lol) and it's available for a limited time only so I just gotta try it. It's roll cake with sakura cream filling and edible sakura flower on the top. I have to say that....I LOVE THIS CAKE! It's so fluffy, soft without tasted too dry, and the filling was just perfect. Not too creamy and not too sweet. The sakura tasted a little bit sour- in a good way. I'm not sure it's still available now tho :(

Overall, it's such a pleasant visit(s) and I know I'm gonna go there again and again. FYI, they imported the matcha from Uji, Kyoto, that's why the authenticity is guaranteed. Based on my palates, I love matcha gelato more than matcha soft-serve, simply because I still can taste the bitterness from their gelato- it just tasted authentic, hahaha. Oh, the price might be pretty expensive for some people but I think it's an equal price for such a high quality matcha desserts. It's a must-visit dessert cafe for matcha lovers in Jakarta ;)
